Patch 7.4 will get a new unreal trial which is going to be Tsukuyomi’s Pain. To those that do not know about Unreal trials, they are essentially old trials that are reworked so they can be played with current max level classes (lvl 100 in case of dawntrail). They have a separate reward system than savage raids or extreme trials in the form of Faux Hollows.

FFXIV Patch 7.4 Glamour Update

FFXIV Patch 7.4 New Variant Dungeon
The new FFXIV patch also adds a new Variant dungeon- The Merchant’s Tale. Clearing the dungeon will unlock the Criterion dungeon which is a linear dungeon but significantly harder than the variant dungeon. Finally a third Criterion Dungeon savage is also available. Although variant dungeons are an addition from Endwalker, they have now been changed in how they are played. A detailed overview is written below:
- Variant Dungeon
Same as earlier, branching roots leads to different bosses. You can enter the fight solo and can use a Level 90 class which will sync to level 100. This means you can do a Variant dungeon to farm EXP for your battle jobs.
- Variant Dungeon Advanced
New, no more trash mobs the game mode is just three bosses, the order of fighting depends on you. Killing all three bosses gives a bonus reward while each boss also offers an individual reward. These dungeons can be done with a minimum of 2 players and up to 4 with the difficulty changing depending on the party size.
- Criterion Dungeon
Consists of a harder version of the bosses which must be fought in a certain order. There are no trash mobs and revives are limited. The party must contain 4 players which includes 1 Tank 1 healer and 2 DPS. However if you have a preformed party, you can join the fight with any roles.
